PSW in BOP-Maintenance Deal with Transocean

PSW Group has received a contract from Transocean for storage and maintenance of blow out preventers (BOP) for Cat-D rigs.

The agreement has a duration of five years.

The scope of work consist of storage and Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) services of BOP and related equipment for all Transocean Cat-D rigs.

Due to the dimensions of a BOP, dissasembly, maintenance and reassembly require significant lifting capacity, as well as testing facilities and logistics. PSW Group’s new facility at Mongstad, Western Norway, is purpose-built and includes a test pit, combined crane capacity of 240 tons and stack-up height of 18.5 meters.
