Subsea services firm Bibby Offshore has completed a £2million North Sea contract for BP.
The project saw diving support vessel Bibby Topaz carry out inspection, repair and maintenance operations in the Rhum gas field which lies 236 miles north east of Aberdeen.
ROV inspection works were also carried out on the Bruce platform, 27 miles south of Rhum, supported by an onshore engineering team.
The work was competed in December.
Howard Woodcock, chief executive at Bibby Offshore, said: “This is an important contract award for Bibby Offshore, and highlights the ongoing strong relationship between ourselves and BP.
“This most recent phase of work is the latest in a number of projects we have supported BP on and we look forward to continuing to work with BP now and in the future.”
In November, BP agreed a deal to sell its Bruce Assets to Serica Energy.
The deal includes all of BP’s stake in Rhum (50%), Keith (34%) and all but 1% of its 37% interest in Bruce.
An upfront £12.8million was made by Serica, in addition to a share of cash flows over the next four years.
BP expects to net around £300million from the agreement.
The energy giant remains operator of the assets, with the sale and transfer of operatorship aimed for completion in Q3 of this year.
