A remotely operated underwater vehicle, commonly referred to as an ROV, is a tethered underwater vehicle. They are common in deep water industries such as offshore hydrocarbon extraction. ROVs are unoccupied, highly manoeuvrable, and operated by a crew aboard a vessel.
