Spirit Energy Clears PSA’s Oda Probe

Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has carried out an audit of Spirit Energy and the company’s project management for the development of the Oda field in the North Sea.

The Oda field is in the southern part of the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, 10 kilometres east of Ula. The field is in development and will use a subsea template with two production wells tied back to the Ula field and an injection well for pressure support.

Oda is Spirit Energy’s first development project on the Norwegian continental shelf.

On February 6, 2018, PSA carried out an audit of the operator’s project management of subsea facilities and pipelines in the field development.

The object of the audit was to evaluate how the company’s management of activities for delivering subsea facilities and pipelines complies with the company’s own requirements and statutory regulations.

According to PSA, the audit identified no regulatory non-conformities or improvement points.

Spirit Energy is the E&P joint venture which combines Centrica’s E&P business with Bayerngas Norge.
