Sapura Energy Lands $241M in Contracts

Sapura Energy said it has been awarded 10 new contracts for its Engineering & Construction and Drilling segments, valued at approximately 1 billion Malaysian ringgits ($241 million).

The new contract wins, secured across Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and Australia, include Sapura Energy’s first offshore wind farm contract. In addition, Sapura Energy has been selected for a frame agreement with Petronas for fixed offshore structure works.

Sapura Offshore has been awarded a contract for transportation and installation of foundations for offshore wind turbines at the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.

Sapura Fabrication has won a six-year frame agreement from Petronas for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of fixed offshore structure works. The agreement consists of two packages, namely for fixed offshore structures of weight exceeding 7,500 metric tonnes and fixed offshore structures of weight not exceeding or equal to 7,500 metric tonnes.

For its Drilling segment, Sapura Drilling Asia secured a contract from Shell for the provision of its semi tender-assisted drilling rig, Sapura Esperanza for the F14 field, offshore Malaysia, for two wells with multiple extension periods cumulating to 17 additional wells in aggregate.

Sapura Drilling Asia also secured a contract from Petronas for the provision of its tender-assisted drilling rig, Sapura T-10, for the West Lutong Drilling Programme. The contract covers drilling rig services for four wells at the West Lutong Field, with extension options of one-plus-one well.

Additionally, Sapura Drilling Asia has been awarded a contract by Chevron Thailand for the provision Sapura T-18. The work entails tender-assisted drilling rig services offshore Thailand.

Furthermore, Sapura Offshore has been awarded with a contract for the provision of T&I of subsea flexible pipelines and risers for the Layang Development Project by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia).

Sapura Projects has been awarded a contract from Cooper Energy for the provision of subsea services associated with repairs of the subsea umbilical system for the Casino Henry and Netherby Electrical Umbilical Backbone Repair Project in offshore western Victoria, Australia. The contract includes the modification of existing and installation of the new subsea umbilical and ancillary appurtenances from Casino 5 UTA to Netherby, which form part of the Casino Henry and Netherby Electrical Backbone Repair project.

Meanwhile, in the Gulf of Thailand, Sapura Energy was awarded two contracts by PTTEP and PTTEPI.

Sapura Energy Thailand is undertaking engineering, procurement, construction and installation works for the FS02 Riser Hose Replacement. The scope comprises project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out and offload, sea fastening, transportation and installation, hook-up, tie-in and pre-commissioning for four sections of the new flexible riser hoses at the Bongkot gas field, at water depths of approximately 80 metres.

Under a three-year contract with PTTEP and PTTEPI, Sapura Energy Thailand will also undertake remotely operated vehicle (ROV) inspection services for subsea inspection, repair and maintenance in the Bongkot and Arthit gas fields, mainly for structural inspection, pipeline inspection, freespan correction and associated miscellaneous works.

Building on its light well intervention (LWI) capabilities and track record in Australia, Normand Sapura has secured an LWI contract in two wells on the North West Shelf from Woodside.

The scope of work for WA03 and WA-11 includes wireline and slickline operations including the installation of suspension plugs, performing production logging tool runs and installation of straddle patches as required.

Normand Sapura has also been awarded with a contract for the Pluto LWI and Christmas tree (XT) Installation by Woodside. Works on Pluto include well jumper fabrication and installation, subsea XT installation, hydraulic flying lead and electrical flying lead installation, suspension plug recovery, and pre-commissioning.
