Oceanteam Nets McDermott Gig for CSV Southern Ocean

Oceanteam has secured a contract from McDermott for the utilization of its construction support vessel Southern Ocean on a subsea installation project off the East Coast of India.

Mobilization of the CSV Southern Ocean will start at the end of the year and the works are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.

Mathieu Feisthauer, fleet manager of Oceanteam, said: “We are very pleased to have secured this contract and are glad with the repeated trust McDermott has put in one of our North Ocean vessels. Oceanteam and Bourbon as co-owner and partner of CSV Southern Ocean, have worked hard to promote the multiple capabilities of our CSV Southern Ocean and, considering the current state of the offshore oil and gas market, are proud to receive this contract. By supporting our client on this significant project Oceanteam is expanding its presence in the Indian oil and gas market, where there are large projects ongoing for years to come.”

Keesjan Cordia, chairman of the board of Oceanteam, added: “Significant milestones have been met these last months, creating a firm basis to grow the company on both the Shipping and Solutions part of the group. The contract awards on both sides of the business are a reflection of that, which at the end of the day is the most instrumental indicator of trust and continuity going forward.”

CSV Southern Ocean is jointly owned by Bourbon and Oceanteam.
