MacArtney has supplied Moog Focal LVEOS Swivel to Norwegian turret and loading systems provider.
The Low Voltage Electrical Optical Swivel (LVEOS) is intended for inclusion into a swivel stack for a FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel).
OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, will supply the Moog Focal LVEOS to the FPSO operating in Block SK10 of the Helang gas field located off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia.
Due for delivery in the mid-fourth quarter of 2018, the Moog Focal model 430 provides a rotating connection for low voltage power, electrical signal and optical cables in a single package. The shaft is configured with hanging turret side cable pigtails that are factory installed.
This model is designed to be located at the top of a swivel stack to allow functionality of a multichannel fibre optic rotary joint. The swivel is certified as a flameproof enclosure with increased safety junction boxes on the ship’s side. It is approximately 2.8 m high with a diameter of approximately 0.7 m and weighs approximately 1 ton.
“The global partnership between Moog Focal and the MacArtney Group represents a solid business alliance, which offers considerable expertise and support to subsea oil and gas customers. Thus, possessing comprehensive experience and in-depth knowledge of marine and underwater technology solutions, MacArtney pride themselves on providing excellent support of Focal products,” the company said in a press release.
