Intertek and N-Sea in Viking Link UXO Hunt

Energinet and National Grid have selected N-Sea Survey to provide UXO survey and inspection on the Viking Link subsea power interconnector between Denmark and UK.

In addition, Intertek was contracted for UXO client representative services. The services are related to UXO risk mitigation activities with scheduled duration from March 2018 and to June 2019.

The UXO risk mitigation activities include UXO survey, Inspection of possibly buried targets (ROV and subsea excavation) and possibly removal of verified UXO items.

Viking Link is a proposed 1400 MW high voltage direct current (HVDC) electricity link that will involve the construction of a converter station in each country and the installation of submarine and underground cables between each converter station.

Viking Link, developed jointly between Energinet and National Grid, will be approximately 760 km long with the offshore part of approximately 630km of submarine high voltage Director Current (DC) cables.
