Horizon Geobay Executes Inch Cape Site Survey

Horizon Geosciences’ vessel the MV Horizon Geobay has completed Inch Cape’s 2018 offshore site investigation campaign.

The geophysical and geotechnical surveys were undertaken on the 150km2 proposed site, 15 kilometers off the Angus coast.

Surveys were also carried out along the export cable corridor located within the Outer Firth of Tay and Firth of Forth, with works taking place off the North Berwick and Gullane coast in East Lothian.

The work on the geotechnical laboratory testing and reporting will continue over the winter.

The project is being developed by Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL). The proposed offshore wind farm will consist of turbines supported by fixed foundations and substructures.

A network of low voltage electricity cables will be required to connect the wind turbines to offshore substation platforms. The export electricity cables will be brought ashore at Cockenzie, in East Lothian.
