Energy Voice | Vroon nets multi-million pound North Sea support deal with BP

The Aberdeen offshore service division of Dutch firm Vroon has clinched a multi-million-pound contract with oil major BP.

Vroon Offshore will provide five emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRVs) to support BP’s operations in the North Sea and west of Shetland.

The contract is for two years with the option to extend to five.

The exact value of the deal was not disclosed.

The five vessels supporting the contract are VOS Fabulous, VOS Vigilant, VOS Innovator, VOS Discovery and VOS Fairness.

“With this modern and versatile fleet and highly qualified, experienced colleagues, we are committed to providing safe, reliable and cost-effective services which meet the needs of our customers who operate in some of the challenging North Sea environment.”

The company has a rescue-craft maintenance workshop in Montrose and an office in Great Yarmouth.

It employs 50 people onshore and 1,000 seafarers.
