Oil services firm Petrofac has today secured a £48 million contract extension on Eni’s Liverpool Bay Development.
Petrofac will support five field prospect off Wales, situated in the Irish Sea, by continuing its ten year relationship with Eni UK as duty holder for the Irish Sea Pioneer, an offshore support vessel located off the North Wales coast.
The extension will also see them provide on and offshore operations and maintenance personnel on the Douglas fixed platforms, offshore storage installation, and at the onshore gas terminal at Point of Ayr.
Oil was first discovered in Liverpool Bay in 1990 and saw first gas from the Hamilton North field in 1995.
Dave Blackburn, senior vice president, Petrofac Engineering and Production Services West, said: “We are delighted that Eni has exercised its option to extend our contract for another two years, continuing our long-term support of the Liverpool Bay Development.
“As Operators continue to look to the supply chain to generate value, this important renewal is testament to our record of sustained operations delivery across the UKCS. We very much look forward to working with Eni to maximise safe production throughout field life.”
