Energy Voice | Interventek wins £1m valve contract

Interventek Subsea Engineering has secured an order in excess of £1 million for its Revolution in-riser shear and safety valve from Louisiana-based Professional Rental Tools LLC (PRT Offshore).

PRT Offshore to support well completion and intervention operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

Aberdeenshire-based Interventek confirmed it will supply its 6.375” 15,000psi working pressure valves to be included in PRT Offshore’s Subsea Safety System.

The system is designed for deep water and high working pressure applications.

Interventek’s managing director, Gavin Cowie, said: “Over the last twelve months the Revolution valve has gained a successful operational track record with PRT Offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Increasing the number of valves deployed will add to this experience and assist in the process of broader subsea market adoption.

“We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with PRT Offshore, are very grateful for their support and look forward to working with them to help deliver enhanced services to their customers.”
