Equinor has announced that it is to extend two Maersk contracts for operational support on the Martin Linge field.
Maersk Drilling AS and the Maersk Intrepid rig have been awarded a 5-month contract for operational support on the Martin Linge field, with two extension options.
The Maersk Intrepid rig originally held a deal for operational support until April 2019, which Equinor has now chosen to extend to two one-month contracts before a new deal is signed “from 1 June to 31 October 2019″.
The Intrepid will also get four new two-month extension options.
The value of the fixed deal is estimated at more than £30 million.
Jan Einar Malmin, project director for Martin Linge, said: “This is capacity we need at Martin Linge for commissioning tasks and efficient work towards production start-up.”
