Aberdeen-based Awilco Drilling has today confirmed its contract with Shell UK for a decommissioning programme of 18 wells.
The contract value is estimated to be more than £28 million and is thought to be concentrated in the North Sea.
The firm 18 well program has an estimated duration of 330 days and is scheduled to commence around 1 September 2018.
The deal relates to the provision of the WilPhoenix rig, one of Awilco Drilling’s two Enhanced Pacesetter semi-submersibles.
The WilPhoenix rig is able to drill to water depths of up to 1,200 feet.
The company also confirmed it has one new build rig on order of Moss CS60 ECO MW design equipped for drilling in harsh environments.
Awilco also announced it has independent options for an additional three rigs of the same design.
