Skandi Recife is the company’s third Brazilian-flagged vessel and will work with Petrobras on the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santos basins, DOF informed through social media.

The vessel is part of four vessels owned by a joint venture between DOF Subsea and TechnipFMC, with the fourth vessel, Skandi Olinda, scheduled to be delivered in 2019.

The Skandi Recife, with a length of close to 140 meters and a beam of 28 meters, was built by Vard Promar yard in Brazil.

Huisman outfitted the vessel with a 340mt pipelay system, a 50mt knuckle boom crane, a subsea knuckle boom crane, and a 2,500mt flex-pipe storage basket.

The vessel, that can operate in up to 2,500 meters water depth, is specifically designed to undertake tallation of umbilicals, flexible flowlines and risers in Brazil.
