Aker BP Adds New SVP Projects

Aker BP has appointed Knut Sandvik as senior vice president Projects.

He will be a part of the executive management team and will report to CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik.

Sandvik has worked for Aker Solutions for more than 30 years, joining what was then Norwegian Contractors as a field engineer in 1987.

Throughout his career, Sandvik has held various senior project and leadership positions across the organization, gaining valuable experience from both the engineering, subsea and maintenance fields.

His last two roles have been as a member of the executive management team, first as EVP Projects and more recently as EVP Greenfield Projects.

Sandvik holds a degree in Mechanical Offshore Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.

He will replace Olav Henriksen, who will join Aker Energy, and take on the position as SVP Field Development.

Karl Johnny Hersvik, CEO of Aker BP, said: “Knut will make a great addition to the management team in Aker BP. His long and dedicated experience from the industry will be invaluable to leading our projects in the years to come. At the same time, I would like to thank Olav for his many years of steady and knowledgeable contribution in key management positions in the company. I wish him all the best for the coming years with Aker Energy.”

The change will take place as from July 01, 2019.
